  • 200 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 220 g Flour
  • 100 g soft butter or margarine
  • 225 g Icing sugar
  • 1/2 TEASPOON Orange Back
  • 1 egg (size M)
  • 1 untreated orange
  • 7-10 Tbsp Flour
  • baking paper

Directions

    Cut the marzipan into small pieces and place in a bowl. Add flour, fat, 100 g icing sugar, orange-back and egg and work well with the dough hooks of the hand mixer. With cool hands quickly knead to a smooth dough. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours. Quarter the dough, form a quarter into a roll on a floured work surface and divide into 10 pieces.

    Make an approx. 15 cm long roll from each piece and put it into a pretzel. Form a pretzel from the remaining dough and place it on 2 baking trays lined with baking paper. Bake in the preheated oven (electric: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) for 10-15 minutes one after the other. Cool down on a cake rack. Wipe the orange hot and rub dry. Peel the skin thinly with a julienne chiseler (or peel the skin thinly and cut into fine strips. Squeeze the orange. Mix the remaining icing sugar and 3-4 tablespoons of orange juice. Coat the pretzel with icing and sprinkle with orange peel strips.
