Macaroni casserole with meatballs and broccoli in tomato sauce

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 400 g Macaroni
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Olive oil
  • 2 (120 g each) fine uncooked bratwursts
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Tomato paste
  • 1 can(s) (425 ml) Tomatoes
  • 8 Stem(s) Thyme
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 1 TABLESPOON Sugar
  • 400 g Broccoli
  • 150 g grated gouda cheese
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease

Directions

    Break the pasta in half and cook in boiling salted water according to the instructions on the packet. Peel onion and cut into fine cubes. Heat the oil in a frying pan. Press the sausage into the hot oil, fry it all around and take it out.

    Steam onion in the bratwurst fat. Stir in tomato paste and add tomatoes. Wash thyme, shake dry and pluck leaves from the stalks. Season sauce with salt, pepper, sugar and thyme.

    Cut broccoli into florets from the stalk and wash. Blanch in boiling salted water for about 1 minute, remove. Mix all ingredients and put into a greased casserole dish. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for approx. 30 minutes.
