Larded apple pie

Ingredients

  • 1/2 l Milk
  • 1/2 cube (21 g) Yeast
  • 1 TEASPOON Salt
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 500 g Flour
  • 75 g Raisins
  • 500 g Apples
  • 75 g diced lemon peel
  • 2 TEASPOONS ground cinnamon
  • 7-10 Tbsp Lard

Directions

    Warm the milk lukewarm and mix with the yeast in a bowl until the yeast has dissolved. Gradually add salt, 100 g sugar, vanillin sugar and flour. Mix everything to a smooth dough. Wash the raisins and dab dry. Peel apples, remove seeds and cut into very small cubes. Fold the raisins, apple cubes and candied lemon peel into the dough. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.

    Preheat a pancake or eye pan (available in specialist shops) according to the manufacturer's instructions. Put about 1/2 teaspoon of fat in each opening, then add a tablespoon of dough and bake for 3-5 minutes. Turn the cakes and bake for another 3-5 minutes. Mix the remaining sugar and cinnamon. Turn the apple tart while still hot in cinnamon sugar. Bake 25-30 apple cakes in this way and serve as fresh as possible. Serve with hot red wine or tea punch
