  • 4 Tomatoes
  • 1⁄2 Federation flat leaf parsley
  • 2 red onions

Directions

  1. 1

For the tzatziki, peel the garlic and chop finely. Clean the cucumber and peel it with a peeler. Halve the cucumber lengthwise, scrape out the seeds with a teaspoon. Cut cucumber into wafer-thin slices.

  2. 2

Mix yoghurt, garlic, cucumber slices, lemon juice and oil. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

  3. 3

For the gyros peel the onion and cut it into fine strips. Peel garlic and chop finely. Wash the meat, dab dry with kitchen paper and cut into 2-3 mm thin strips with a sharp kitchen knife.

  4. 4

Mix meat, onion, garlic, gyros spice and 3 tablespoons of oil in a bowl.

  5. 5

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a supersized frying pan. Fry the meat in portions over high heat for about 5 minutes, turning vigorously. Season with a little salt and pepper if necessary. Take out, keep warm.

  6. 6

For the side dishes, wash the cucumber and tomatoes. Clean the cucumber, dice roughly. Roughly dice the tomatoes. Wash parsley, shake dry, remove leaves and cut into strips. Mix everything. Season with salt and pepper.

  7. 7

Peel red onions and cut them into fine rings. Toast the pita bread. Eat the gyros with tzatziki, tomato-cucumber-mix, onion rings and pita bread.
