Ingredients

  • 1 Onion
  • 100 g smoked streaky bacon in cubes
  • 200 g Dish lenses
  • 1 collar Soup Greens
  • 300 g Potatoes
  • 200 g red lentils
  • 6 Stem(s) Marjoram
  • 4 (approx. 240 g) Vienna sausage
  • 1 TABLESPOON medium hot mustard
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 2-3 TABLESPOONS Cider vinegar
  • 1 pinch Sugar

Directions

    Peel and dice the onion. Leave the bacon in a large pot without fat for about 5 minutes. After 3 minutes add onion cubes. Wash the dish lentils, put them into the pot and boil them up with 2 litres of water.

    Cook for 45-60 minutes. Clean, peel and dice the celery, carrots and parsley root. Clean the leek, wash thoroughly and cut into cubes. Add vegetables to the lentils. Peel, wash and dice the potatoes.

    Cook the potato cubes for the last 20 minutes. Wash the red lentils and add them 12 minutes before the end of the cooking time. Wash the marjoram, shake dry, pluck leaves from the stalks and chop, except for something to garnish.

    Cut the sausage into slices and add to the soup 5 minutes before the end of cooking time. Season to taste with mustard, marjoram, salt, pepper, vinegar and sugar. Garnish soup with marjoram.
