Ingredients

  • 1/8 l Milk
  • 1 cube (42 g) Yeast
  • 500 g Flour
  • 2 Eggs (size M)
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 100 g Butter or margarine
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp grated rind of 1 untreated lemon
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 6 TABLESPOONS Cherry Jam
  • 1 Protein
  • 1 kg white fat for frying
  • 7-10 Tbsp Icing sugar

Directions

    Warm the milk lukewarm and dissolve the yeast in it. Knead flour, eggs, sugar, fat, vanilla sugar, lemon peel, salt and yeast milk with the dough hooks of the hand mixer to a smooth dough.

    Cover and leave to rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes. Roll out the dough about 1 cm thick and cut out 24 hearts. Put 1 teaspoon of jam on half of the hearts in the middle. Brush the edges with egg white.

    Place the remaining hearts on top and press the edges firmly together. Leave to rise again for another 15 minutes. Heat up the frying fat. Bake the hearts in it for about 5 minutes until golden brown. Drain on kitchen paper. Dust with icing sugar before serving.
