Ingredients

  • 150 g liquid honey
  • 125 g Sugar
  • 3 Eggs (size M)
  • 375 g Flour
  • 1 1/2 TSP. Cocoa powder
  • 2 TEASPOONS Gingerbread spice
  • 1 heaped Tsp baking powder
  • 500 g Icing sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp a few squirts of lemon juice
  • 1/4 sheet red gelatine
  • 7-10 Tbsp Sweets
  • 7-10 Tbsp almonds without skin
  • 7-10 Tbsp Flour
  • 7-10 Tbsp Fat and flour
  • 7-10 Tbsp Cardboard

Directions

    For the dough, heat honey, 100 g sugar and 2 tablespoons of water until the sugar is dissolved. Let cool for 10-15 minutes. Separate 2 eggs. Mix 1 egg, 2 egg yolks and 25 g sugar with the whisks of the hand mixer until creamy. Stir in honey mixture. Mix flour, cocoa, gingerbread spice and baking powder and sieve onto the honey dough. Knead first with the dough hooks of the hand mixer, then with floured hands to a smooth dough. Cover the dough and chill for about 30 minutes.

    In the meantime grease a baking tray and dust with flour. Roll out the dough evenly. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: level 2) for 15-20 minutes. In the meantime cut out stencils for the house from cardboard. Make house sides (11 x 4 cm), roof tiles (14.5 x 10 cm), gable sides (14 x 5 x 10.5 cm) and chimney (1 x 1 cm). Take the dough out of the oven and place the templates on the hot gingerbread. Cut out immediately. All pieces must be cut out twice. Cut out a round window and a door from a gable front. Remove the dough from the tray, place it on a cake rack and let it cool down. Sieve icing sugar into a bowl for the icing. Add egg white and mix with the whisk of the hand mixer to a thick icing. Add lemon juice if necessary. Pour the icing into a piping bag with a small perforated nozzle. Cover the window of the gable side from behind with gelatine.

    Cut out a round window and a door from a gable front. Remove the dough from the tray, place it on a cake rack and let it cool down. Sieve icing sugar into a bowl for the icing. Add egg white and mix with the whisk of the hand mixer to a thick icing. Add lemon juice if necessary. Pour the icing into a piping bag with a small perforated nozzle. Cover the window of the gable side from behind with gelatine. First glue the house frame together with the icing. Let it dry for about 30 minutes. Fix the roofing tiles with the icing and let them dry. Put together squares for the chimney and glue them on the gable. Fix the door with the icing. Decorate the house lavishly with icing, sweets, almonds etc. Cut the dominoes in half if necessary and use them for decoration as well. Leave to dry and dust with icing sugar if necessary

Put together squares for the chimney and glue them on the gable. Fix the door with the icing. Decorate the house lavishly with icing, sweets, almonds etc. Cut the dominoes in half if necessary and use them for decoration as well. Leave to dry and dust with icing sugar if necessary
