Drain the olives well on a sieve. Also drain the tomatoes. Peel garlic and chop very finely. Cut 2 olives into slices. Chop the tomatoes and the rest of the olives very finely.
Mix tomatoes, olives, garlic and olive oil. Season with salt, pepper and sugar. Serve in a small bowl with slices of olives and, if desired, garnished with roasted garlic slices.
Ciabatta bread tastes good with it.
