Ingredients

Servings: 1
  • 175 g Low-fat curd
  • 6 TABLESPOONS + 1 tsp milk
  • 6 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 75 g Sugar
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp grated rind of 1 untreated lemon
  • 300 g Flour
  • 1 package Baking Powder
  • 1 egg (size M)
  • 10 Sultanas
  • 8 Almond kernels without skin
  • 10 Pistachio kernels
  • 80 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 1 TABLESPOON Icing sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp 1 tube each of red, brown and white sugar writing
  • 7-10 Tbsp Flour
  • 7-10 Tbsp Icing sugar
  • baking paper

Directions

  1. 1

Mix quark, 6 tablespoons of milk, oil, sugar, vanillin sugar and grated lemon peel. Mix flour and baking powder and add to the quark mixture and knead with the dough hooks of the hand mixer. Finally, place the dough on a floured work surface and knead with your hands until it is smooth. Halve the dough and remove a good 1/3 of each half. Roll or flatten the large pieces of dough into a rectangle. For the girl, shape the flat piece of dough into dress and body.

  2. 2

For the boy, roll out a little longer and cut the dough in half lengthwise and form legs and feet. (Measurements: Girl's dress and body 14-15 cm; boy's body/legs approx. 20 cm; total height approx. 28 cm each) Use the remaining pieces of dough to form heads, arms for both figures and legs for the girl. Separate the egg. Line a baking tray (ca. 37 x 32 cm) with baking paper and put the girl and the boy together on it. Coat the seams with egg white and press them well together. Cut a narrow strip on both sides of the girl's head and turn it into braids. Spread sultanas, pistachios and almond kernels with egg white and press them onto the figures as eyes, noses, buttons etc. Mix the egg yolk and 1 teaspoon of milk and brush both figures with it. In a preheated oven. Bake from the bottom (electric oven: 175 °C/ circulating air: 150 °C/ gas: level 2) (check baking time and temperature!) for approx. 25 minutes. Leave the mare's kernels to cool down on the baking tray. Meanwhile knead marzipan and icing sugar and divide the mixture. Dust the work surface with icing sugar and roll out the two pieces of dough into a rectangle (approx. 8 x 5-6 cm).

Decorate cooled figures with sugar lettering. The girl gets a red and white checkered apron, the boy a brown and white checkered chef's trousers. In addition, you can now paint red mouths on both of them and the boy a white shirt and brown hair. Now stick the chef's hats with some white sugar writing on the two figures' heads and press them on. Border the edges of the chef's hats with white sugar writing. Leave to dry
