Figs with feta cheese

Ingredients

  • 2 untreated oranges
  • 100 ml dry white wine
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Brandy
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Honey
  • 1 TABLESPOON Sugar
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 3 Cloves
  • 1-2 Bay leaves
  • 8 (approx. 500 g) Figs
  • 175 g Sheep's cheese

Directions

    1 Wash the orange thoroughly, rub dry and halve. Cut one half into slices. Squeeze the remaining oranges (approx. 125 ml juice). Bring orange juice, white wine, brandy, honey, sugar, cinnamon stick, cloves, bay leaf and orange slices to the boil briefly in a pot.

    Wash the figs, drain and cut in half. Put the figs in a baking dish with a lid. Crumble sheep's cheese in coarse pieces between the figs and pour the hot stock over them. Cover and bake in a preheated oven (electric range: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) for 25-30 minutes.

    Serve hot or lukewarm with flat bread or baguette.
