Easter chicks from quark oil dough

Ingredients

Servings: 6
  • 2 Egg yolk (size M)
  • 80 ml Milk
  • 80 ml Oil
  • 200 g Low-fat curd
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 75 g Sugar
  • 400 g Flour
  • 1 package Baking Powder
  • 1 egg (size M)
  • 250 g Icing sugar
  • 1 Protein (size M)
  • 7-10 Tbsp yellow and red food colouring
  • 3 Disposable piping bag
  • 7-10 Tbsp brown lipstick
  • 7-10 Tbsp Flour
  • baking paper

Directions

    Mix egg yolk, milk, oil, quark, salt and sugar. Mix flour and baking powder and sieve over it. Knead to a smooth dough with the dough hooks of the hand mixer. Roll out the dough on a floured work surface to a thickness of approx. 5 mm. Cut out 6 bodies (12 cm Ø) and heads (7 cm Ø).

    Roll the bodies into a slightly oval shape. Whisk the egg. Brush body and heads with some egg, put together and press on a little. Put the chicks on 2 baking trays lined with baking paper. Brush the chick with the rest of the whisked egg. Bake in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for 12-15 minutes. Let them cool down. Mix icing sugar, egg white and 1-2 tablespoons of water with the whisk of the hand mixer to a smooth glaze. Approx. 3 tablespoons of icing with yellow food colouring, approx. 1 tablespoon with red food colouring. Pour the mixture into three disposable piping bags and paint the chicks with it.

    Bake in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for 12-15 minutes. Let them cool down. Mix icing sugar, egg white and 1-2 tablespoons of water with the whisk of the hand mixer to a smooth glaze. Approx. 3 tablespoons of icing with yellow food colouring, approx. 1 tablespoon with red food colouring. Pour the mixture into three disposable piping bags and paint the chicks with it. Leave to dry. Paint eyes with sugar writing
