Ingredients

Servings: 25
  • 4 Eggs (size M)
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 225 g Flour
  • 1 package Pudding powder vanilla flavor
  • 2 TEASPOONS Baking Powder
  • 200 ml clear apple juice
  • 5 TABLESPOONS Mineral water
  • 250 g flaked almonds
  • 5 Apples (approx. 225 g each, e.g. Boskop)
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 1 TEASPOON Cinnamon
  • 1,5 l Oil

Directions

  1. 1

Beat the eggs with the whisk of the hand mixer. Stir in vanillin sugar and salt. Mix flour, pudding powder and baking powder and sieve. Alternately stir apple juice and mineral water into the eggs.

  2. 2

Carefully fold in 150 g flaked almonds. Wash and peel apples. Use an apple corer to cut out the core and then cut the apples into 5 rings each. Mix sugar and cinnamon.

  3. 3

Heat the oil in a wide saucepan. Pull apple rings one after the other through the dough, making sure that almond flakes stick. Sprinkle each apple ring with the remaining flaked almonds.

  4. 4

Put 3 apple rings each in the hot oil and deep-fry on both sides until golden brown. Remove with a skimmer and immediately turn the still hot apple rings in the sugar-cinnamon mixture.
