  • 100 g dried dates
  • 200 g dried figs
  • 100 g red cherries
  • 100 g diced lemon peel
  • 100 g diced candied orange peel
  • 200 g Brazil nut kernels
  • 100 g Walnut kernel halves
  • 2 Eggs (Gr. M)
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp 2 p. Vanillin sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 1/4 TEASPOON Cinnamon
  • 75 g Flour
  • 3 square baking wafers (122 x 202 mm each)
  • 125 g Icing sugar
  • 2-3 TABLESPOONS Lemon juice
  • 7-10 Tbsp Sugar crystals

Directions

    Preparation of date nut sticks Dice dates and figs. Mix with cherries, lemon peel, candied orange peel and nuts.

    Beat eggs, sugar and vanilla sugar for about 8 minutes until fluffy. Add tsp. salt and cinnamon. Sift flour on top and fold in. Fold in the fruit and nut mixture.

    Line baking tray with baking paper. Spread wafers on top. Spread 1/3 dough on each wafer. Bake in the preheated oven (electric range: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/gas: level 2) for 45-50 minutes. Leave in the switched off oven for another 15 minutes.

    Mix icing sugar and lemon juice. Dribble over the warm pastry and sprinkle with sugar crystals. Leave to dry. Cut into about 10 sticks each.
