Cut the gouda into 4 pieces. Cut the ham slice into quarters. Wrap each piece of cheese in 1 piece of ham. Peel and finely chop the onion. Wash the thyme, shake dry and remove the leaves.
Knead ground pork, minced meat, egg, breadcrumbs, onion, thyme, 1⁄2 tsp. salt and a little pepper. Quarter the minced meat mass. Press each portion flat, wrap 1 ham packet in it (see picture below) and form into meatballs.
Peel, wash and chop the potatoes, cover and cook in salted water for about 20 minutes. Clean and wash the beans, cover and cook in boiling salted water for about 15 minutes.
Heat the oil in a pan. Fry the meatballs for about 5 minutes, turning them over. Pour on approx. 5 tbsp. water, cover and braise for approx. 10 minutes.
Wash and chop the parsley. Drain potatoes, add milk and mash. Season with salt and nutmeg. Drain beans, add parsley and stir. Keep warm.
Remove the lid from the pan, fry the meatballs for 4-5 minutes while turning them until crispy. Remove. Heat butter in a hot pan, stir in fried onions. Serve the meatballs with mashed potatoes and beans. Drizzle roasted onion butter over them.
