Coloured white cabbage salad

Ingredients

  • 750 g White cabbage
  • 200 ml Fruit Vinegar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 1-2 TEASPOONS Sugar
  • 100 ml Oil
  • 250 g Carrots
  • 1 collar Spring onions
  • 3 medium-sized, sour apples
  • 7-10 Tbsp juice of 1 lemon to sprinkle
  • 7-10 Tbsp Caraway seeds

Directions

    Clean the white cabbage, quarter it. Cut out the stalk. Cut cabbage into thin strips, wash and drain. Season vinegar with salt, pepper and sugar, bring to the boil. Add oil.

    Knead the hot marinade into the cabbage. Cover and leave to stand for about 20 minutes. In the meantime peel carrots and cut them into very thin slices. Clean and wash spring onion and cut into rings. Wash apples.

    Cut out the middle as a disc to garnish. Cut the rest into quarters, remove the seeds. Cut into small pieces. Drizzle apples with lemon juice. Fold the rest of the prepared ingredients into the white cabbage, season again and add caraway seeds to taste.

    Serve garnished with apple slices.
