Ingredients

Servings: 25
  • 150 g Dark chocolate
  • 250 g Flour
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Cocoa powder
  • 75 g Icing sugar
  • 125 g Butter
  • 1 egg (size M)
  • 7-10 Tbsp Flour
  • 7-10 Tbsp Cling film
  • 7-10 Tbsp wooden skewers
  • baking paper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Disposable piping bag

Directions

  1. 1

Chop the chocolate and melt over a warm water bath. Mix flour, cocoa and icing sugar in a bowl. Add butter in flakes, egg and 2 tablespoons of melted chocolate. Knead first with the dough hooks of the hand mixer, then with your hands to a smooth dough. Wrap in foil and chill for about 30 minutes

  2. 2

Roll out the short pastry to a thickness of approx. 5 mm on a floured work surface. First cut out the beards with the moustache cutters (between 9 + 10.5 cm). Dust the backs of the cutters with flour and press them into the beards so that the pattern is engraved. In some of the beards you might put a wooden skewer. Spread them on 2-3 baking trays lined with baking paper. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: see manufacturer) for approx. 10 minutes one after the other. Let them cool down

  3. 3

Re-heat melted chocolate. Pour into a piping bag and decorate moustaches as desired, allow to dry

  4. 4

    Waiting time approx. 1 hour
