Chicory gratin with cheese and ham

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 4-6 Chicory (ca. 200 g)
  • 2 TABLESPOONS lemon juice, salt, pepper
  • 200 g medieval Gouda cheese in thin slices
  • 200 g cooked ham in thin slices
  • 75 g Whipped cream
  • 2-3 TABLESPOONS Breadcrumbs
  • 1-2 TABLESPOONS butter/margarine
  • 1/2 bunch Chives

Directions

    Clean, wash and drain the chicory. Halve the chicory and sprinkle with lemon juice immediately. Cover and stew in little boiling salted water for about 5 minutes. Drain

    Quarter cheese and ham slices. Place the chicory halves in a greased casserole dish. Then carefully slide the cheese and ham slices between the chicory leaves. Finish with cheese

    Season the cream and pour over the vegetables. Add breadcrumbs and fat in flakes. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 225 °C/recirculating air: 200 °C/gas: level 4) for 10-12 minutes until golden brown

    Wash the chives, cut into small rolls and sprinkle over the chicory. Mashed potatoes go well with it
