Cherry mulled wine

Ingredients

  • 1 glass (370 ml) Morello cherries
  • 4 TABLESPOONS Almond liqueur (e.g. Amaretto)
  • 750 ml Red wine
  • 100 g demerara sugar
  • 1 untreated lemon
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 1 Star Anise
  • 1 Bag of spice preparation for mulled wine (Glühfix)

Directions

    Drain the cherries and collect the juice. Drizzle the cherries with amaretto and leave to stand. Boil up the cherry juice, red wine and sugar. Wash and slice the lemon. Let cinnamon stick, star anise, lemon slices and infusion bag steep in hot wine for about 10 minutes.

    Pour 1 tablespoon of marinated cherries into each glass. Fill with hot mulled wine and serve.
