Caramel Churros

Ingredients

  • 50 g Cream caramel sweets
  • 100 ml Oil
  • 1/2 TEASPOON Salt
  • 600 g Flour
  • 1 kg Frying fat
  • 7-10 Tbsp Icing sugar

Directions

    Chop the sweets and melt them in a pot. Add 200 ml water. Cook until the caramel has dissolved. Add another 500 ml water, oil and salt. Bring to the boil briefly. Put the flour in a bowl. Add the liquid.

    Knead first with the dough hooks of the hand mixer, then with your hands to a smooth dough. Pour the dough in portions into a piping bag with a large star-shaped spout. Spray approx. 13 cm long strips on parchment paper. Press together to form curls. Heat the frying fat in a pan (approx. 180 °C) and bake the curls for approx. 5 minutes until golden brown. Drain and dust thickly with icing sugar
