Beef curry with papaya

Ingredients

  • 500 g Rump steak
  • 2 red onions
  • 2 green chillies
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Peanut oil
  • 3-4 Tsp Curry
  • 5 TABLESPOONS Soy sauce
  • 1 (approx. 400 g) Papaya
  • 1 TABLESPOON Cornstarch
  • 25 g unsalted peanut kernels
  • 7-10 Tbsp fresh cilantro

    Cut the meat into narrow strips. Dice onions. Carve chillies lengthwise, remove seeds and cut into fine rings. Briefly fry the meat in hot oil. Take out. Sauté onions and chillies in frying fat.

    Sprinkle curry over it and add the meat again. Deglaze with 3/8 litres of water and soy sauce. Stew for five to ten minutes. Peel, quarter, core and thinly slice the papaya. Mix cornflour with cold water and thicken the beef curry.

    Fold in the papaya. Sprinkle with peanuts and coriander.
