Bavette with tomatoes, fillet of beef, basil and garlic

Ingredients

  • 400 g ripe beef tomatoes
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 untreated lemon
  • 1 Pot of basil
  • 7 TABLESPOONS Olive oil
  • 1 TEASPOON Sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper from the mill
  • 400 g Bavette noodles
  • 400 g Fillet of beef
  • 125 g Italian buffalo mozzarella cheese

Directions

    Wash, clean and dice the tomatoes. Peel garlic and press it through a garlic press. Wash lemon hot, grate dry and grate peel. Halve the lemon and squeeze one half.

    Wash the basil, dab dry and cut the leaves, except for some for garnishing, from the stems and cut into strips. Mix tomatoes, garlic, lemon juice and zest, basil and 6 tablespoons of oil.

    Season to taste with sugar, salt and pepper. Prepare pasta in boiling salted water according to package instructions. Wash the meat, dab dry and cut into strips. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a frying pan.

    Fry the meat for 3-4 minutes, season with salt and pepper at the end. Drain the mozzarella and cut into cubes. Drain the pasta (do not rinse) and immediately put it back into the still hot pot.

    Fold in the tomato mixture and meat and arrange on plates. Sprinkle with mozzarella and garnish with basil leaves.
