Baked figs with ice cream

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Walnut kernels
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Pistachio kernels
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp grated peel of 1 organic orange
  • 4 (approx. 250 g) large or 8 small ripe figs
  • 4 balls of vanilla or walnut ice cream (approx. 50 g each)

Directions

    Coarsely chop nuts and pistachios. Boil up sugar and 5 tablespoons of water. Simmer for about 1 minute until the sugar is completely dissolved. Stir in orange peel, nuts and pistachios.

    Wash figs thoroughly and dab dry. Cut each fig crosswise several times at the base of the stalk, but do not cut through the figs. Place in an ovenproof dish.

    Drizzle pistachio walnut syrup over the figs. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200°C/recirculating air: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for approx. 12 minutes.

    Remove figs from the oven and serve with 1 scoop of ice cream at a time.
