Ingredients

Servings: 1
  • 200 g Butter or margarine
  • 175 g Sugar
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 1 a few drops of butter vanilla aroma
  • 7-10 Tbsp grated rind of 1 untreated lemon
  • 4 Eggs (size M)
  • 250 g Flour
  • 1/2 package Baking Powder
  • 100 g crushed almonds
  • 200 g Marzipan raw mass
  • baking paper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease
  • 900 g sour apples (about 7 pieces)
  • 1 jar (250 g) Apple Jam

Directions

  1. 1

Cream the fat with the whisk of the hand mixer. Gradually add sugar, vanillin sugar, butter-vanilla flavouring, lemon peel and eggs and stir until creamy. Mix flour with baking powder and almonds.

  2. 2

Cut the marzipan into small pieces. Stir in the flour mixture and marzipan. Line the bottom of a springform pan (26 cm Ø) with baking paper. Grease the rim of the mould. Fill in the dough and smooth it down. Wash, peel and quarter apples and cut out the core.

  3. 3

Cut the apples into thin slices and place them on the dough in a ring shape. Bake the apple pie in a preheated oven (electric: 175 °C/ gas: level 2) for 40-50 minutes. Briefly heat up the jam, pass through a sieve and glaze the still warm apples with it.

  4. 4

Let the cake rest for about 10 minutes, then carefully loosen the springform pan rim and let it cool down. Serve with whipped cream. Makes about 16 pieces.
