Ingredients

Servings: 12
  • 1 kg sour apples
  • 7-10 Tbsp grated peel and juice of 1 untreated lemon
  • 150 g Butter or margarine
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 3 Eggs (size M)
  • 1 pinch Cinnamon
  • 200 g Flour
  • 2 TEASPOONS Baking Powder
  • 100 g crushed almonds
  • 1/2 glass (225 g) Apricot Jam
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease

Directions

  1. 1

Peel, quarter and core the apples and cut them several times on the round sides. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Beat the fat until frothy. Stir in sugar, vanillin sugar, lemon peel, cinnamon and eggs.

  2. 2

Mix flour, baking powder and almonds, add and mix everything to a smooth dough. Grease a springform pan (26 cm Ø) and fill in the dough. Place the apples on top with the cut side facing upwards.

  3. 3

Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) for about 1 hour. Cover with parchment paper after 30 minutes. Take the cake out of the oven and remove from the tin. Heat up the jam, pass it through a sieve and glaze the hot cake with it.

  4. 4

Let it cool down. Whipped cream with cinnamon tastes good with it.
