Preheat oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/circulating air: 150 °C/gas: see manufacturer). Line two baking trays with baking paper. Cut dough rolls into slices of approx. 1 cm thickness. Press in lightly with the back of a fork, crosswise.
Spread out on the sheets. Bake in a hot oven for 10-12 minutes one after the other until they are lightly browned.
Take out, let it cool down on the tray for about 5 minutes. Sieve the icing sugar onto a deep plate and mix with the rest of the vanilla sugar. Turn the cookies while they are still hot. Let them cool down.
