Steak and ham rolls on broccoli rice

Ingredients

  • 3 TABLESPOONS Tomato paste
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 2 (125 g each) Bag of long grain rice; ready in 10 minutes
  • 300 g Broccoli
  • 8 small beef roulades from the hip (approx. 80 g each)
  • 8 TABLESPOONS Mustard
  • 8 discs raw ham
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 2 Onions
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 8 wooden skewers

Directions

    Mix 2 tablespoons of tomato paste with 1 1/2-2 litres of water and 1 teaspoon of salt, bring to the boil. Put rice bag into boiling water and let simmer for about 10 minutes. Remove the bag. Put rice water aside. Wash broccoli and cut into florets.

    Cook broccoli in boiling salted water for about 5 minutes. Put rice from the bag into a bowl and mix with broccoli.

    Spread each steak from one side with 1 teaspoon of mustard, cover with 1 slice of ham and roll up. Stick the rolls together with a wooden skewer. Heat the oil in a pan, fry the rolls all around and take them out.

    Peel and dice the onions and sauté in the frying fat, add 1 tbsp. tomato paste, add 4 tbsp. rice water, bring to the boil once, simmer over low heat for about 5 minutes, season with salt and pepper.

    Arrange rolls with rice and sauce.
