Red lentil soup (Ayurveda)

Ingredients

  • 150 g red lentils
  • 200 g Carrots
  • 400 g Tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion
  • 15 g fresh ginger
  • 1 TEASPOON ground turmeric
  • 1 TEASPOON Garam Masala
  • 1/2 TEASPOON ground cilantro
  • 1 knife tip ground lovage
  • 1 knife tip ground fenugreek
  • 1 knife tip ground cloves
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt

Directions

    Soak the lentils in water for about 10 minutes. Peel and wash the carrots. Clean and wash the tomatoes. Cut both into cubes. Peel and finely dice onion. Peel ginger and chop finely.

    Drain the lenses. Boil up about 1 l water and turmeric. Add lentils and carrots, bring to the boil, cover and simmer over low heat for about 15 minutes. Then add tomatoes, onion, garam masala, coriander, lovage, fenugreek, cloves and ginger, simmer for another 15 minutes.

    Season with salt and arrange in bowls.
