Red and green pepper relish

Ingredients

  • 2 green and red peppers (about 800 g)
  • 6 medium-sized onions
  • 4 tablespoons (40 g) Oil
  • 1 TEASPOON pickled green pepper
  • 1 red chilli pepper
  • 12 TABLESPOONS White wine vinegar
  • 1 TEASPOON Salt
  • 4 TSP Sugar

Directions

    Clean, wash and dice the green and red peppers separately. Peel and dice the onions

    For the green relish, heat 2 tablespoons of oil. Fry half the onions in it until transparent. Add the green pepper cubes and peppercorns, cover and steam for 4-5 minutes

    In the meantime, clean, wash, seed and finely chop the chilli pepper for the red relish. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil. Sauté the remaining onions and chilli in it. Add the red pepper cubes and fry everything covered for 4-5 minutes

    Mix the red and green relish with 6 tbsp vinegar, 4 tbsp water, approx. 1/2 tsp salt and 2 tbsp sugar. Boil everything down for about 40 minutes while stirring until the mixture thickens. Season to taste with salt and pepper (puree if necessary). Fill hot into prepared glasses, close them and let them cool down
