Dough balls with vanilla sauce

Ingredients

  • 200 ml Milk
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 2 TABLESPOONS + 500 g sugar
  • 1 TEASPOON Cornstarch
  • 3 Egg yolk (size M)
  • 200 g mixed berries (e.g. currants, raspberries, blueberries)
  • 250 g Flour
  • 1 TEASPOON Baking Powder
  • 1 TEASPOON Cinnamon
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 TABLESPOON Apricot Jam
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Butter
  • 7-10 Tbsp Icing sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Peppermint

    For the vanilla sauce, boil up the milk, except for 5 tablespoons, vanillin sugar and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Stir the starch and 2 tablespoons of milk until smooth, add to the boiling milk while stirring, bring to the boil again and simmer for about 1 minute. Remove sauce from the heat, let it cool down for about 5 minutes. Stir 1 egg yolk and 3 tbsp. milk. Stir the egg yolk milk into the hot, but no longer boiling milk. Put the sauce in a cool place

    Drink: red or rosé wine

    Mix flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Knead 2 egg yolks, jam and 125 ml cold water with the dough hooks of the hand mixer to a smooth dough

    Shape the dough into balls and let them rise in portions in hot syrup for about 5 minutes. Remove the finished balls. In the meantime heat butter in a pan. Swirl the balls for about 3 minutes.

    Arrange dough balls, sauce and berries. Dust with icing sugar and decorate with mint
