Prawns with ginger

Ingredients

  • 30 g flaked almonds
  • 250 g Basmati Rice
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 1 walnut-sized piece of ginger
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 1 TEASPOON Sugar
  • 1 small onion
  • 20 (à 20 g; without head, in shell) small raw shrimps
  • 4-5 Tbsp Honey
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Soy sauce
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • baking paper

Directions

    Roast the flaked almonds in a pan without fat, take them out and let them cool down. Prepare rice in boiling salted water according to package instructions

    Peel the ginger and cut into thin sticks. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a frying pan. Fry the ginger sticks until golden brown, then drain off excess oil. Sprinkle sugar over it and let it caramelize for 2-3 minutes. Spread ginger on baking paper

    Peel onion and chop very finely. Peel the prawns and remove the intestines. Wash the prawns and pat them dry. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a frying pan. Fry the prawns for 5-7 minutes while turning, then remove. Sauté diced onions in the oil, then add ginger. Stir in honey and caramelise lightly, then stir in soy sauce and 2 tbsp. water and simmer for 3-4 minutes. Add shrimps again and season with salt and pepper

    Drain the rice. Fold in almond flakes. Arrange the rice in bowls and add the ginger prawns
