Stir the contents of the bag in 1/4 litre of water and mix well. Leave to swell for about 10 minutes. In the meantime wash apples and remove the core with an apple corer. Cut apples into thick rings and sprinkle with lemon juice.
Cut the ham in half. Heat oil in a frying pan. Form 4 Rösti from the toasted dough and fry on each side for 3-5 minutes at medium heat. After turning, cover the Rösti with apple rings, ham and cheese and lightly gratinate.
Garnish as desired with cranberries and basil.
