Piquant baked apples

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 5 red, small apples (approx. 125 g each; e.g. Boskop)
  • 1 TABLESPOON Lemon juice
  • 75 g Gorgonzola cheese
  • 50 g diced raw ham
  • 75 g Fresh cream
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp black pepper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Marjoram
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease

Directions

    Wash apples and grate them dry. Cut off the upper quarter of 4 apples. Hollow out apples from the inside with a ball cutter, leaving a rim of about 0.5 cm wide. Remove the core and dice the remaining flesh.

    Cut the remaining apple in half, core and dice finely. Drizzle apple cubes with lemon juice. Crumble cheese, mix apple cubes, cheese, ham and crème fraîche. Season to taste with a little salt and pepper.

    Pour the mixture into the apples, place the lid on top and place in a greased casserole dish. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) on the lower rack for about 20 minutes.

    Remove and possibly garnish with marjoram.
