Meatballs on creamed savoy cabbage with bacon and fried onions

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 1 Bread rolls from the previous day
  • 3 Onion
  • 500 g mixed minced meat
  • 1 Egg
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Noble sweet paprika
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 1 (approx. 1 kg) Head Savoy cabbage
  • 20 g Butter or margarine
  • 1/4 Vegetable broth
  • 1/2 (125 g ) Cup of whipped cream
  • 4 discs Bacon

Directions

    Soak rolls in cold water. Peel and finely chop 1 onion. Knead minced meat, squeezed out roll, onion and egg. Season with salt, pepper and paprika. Form 8 meatballs from the minced meat mixture.

    Peel an onion and cut it into rings. Heat oil in a pan. Fry the onion rings until golden brown and take them out. Add the meatballs and fry for 15 minutes at low heat. Turn from time to time.

    Clean, wash and cut the cabbage into large pieces. Peel the remaining onion and chop finely. Heat the fat in a pot. Sauté diced onion and cabbage in it. Add stock and cream, bring to the boil and cook covered for 10 minutes.

    Stir in the sauce thickener and bring to the boil again. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Fry the bacon in a pan until crispy. Arrange savoy cabbage with meatballs and bacon on a plate. Garnish with parsley.

    Boiled potatoes taste good with it.
