Ingredients

  • 1/2 Head White cabbage (about 600 g)
  • 200 g Carrots
  • 3 medium-sized onions
  • 5 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 4 TABLESPOONS White wine vinegar
  • 1 TEASPOON Instant vegetable stock
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp black pepper
  • 4 Pork neck steaks (approx. 175 g each)
  • 2 TEASPOONS Gyros spice
  • 150 g Tsatsiki
  • 7-10 Tbsp Cucumber slices

Directions

    Clean the cabbage, quarter it, cut out the stalk. Cut cabbage into strips, wash and drain. Wash, clean and peel carrots, cut into fine sticks. Put cabbage in a bowl. Peel onions, dice 1 onion. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil, fry onion in it.

    Add 200 ml water and vinegar. Bring to the boil, stir in stock and season with salt and pepper. Pour the stock over the cabbage, let it cool down for a short time, then knead everything with your hands. Mix in the carrots. Chill for 2-3 hours. Wash the meat and dab dry. Place in a flat dish. Halve 2 onions and cut into fine slices, spread on the meat. Sprinkle with gyros spice and 3 tablespoons of oil. Mix well and chill for about 2 hours. Heat up the pan. Add meat with onions and fry on each side for about 4 minutes.
