Lemon chicken with garlic and thyme

Ingredients

  • 1 ready-to-cook chicken (approx. 1.5 kg)
  • 7-10 Tbsp salt, pepper
  • 8 Garlic cloves
  • 6 Stem(s) Thyme
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Sunflower oil
  • 1 Organic Lemon

Directions

    Preheat oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/circulating air: 175 °C/gas: see manufacturer). Wash chicken inside and out, dab dry and rub with salt and pepper. Place in a roaster. Crush garlic cloves slightly with a broad knife blade.

    Wash the thyme. Fill the chicken with half of the thyme and spread it around the chicken. Brush the chicken with oil and roast in the hot oven for about 1 1⁄2 hours. After approx. 30 minutes, pour on 1⁄4 l water.

    Wash the lemon hot and peel the peel thinly with a zest ripper. Or peel the lemon and cut the peel into thin strips. Cut the fruit into slices. Add both about 20 minutes before the end of the frying time.

    Served with salad and roast potatoes.
