Peel and chop the onions. Knead minced meat, egg, breadcrumbs and half onion cubes. Season with gyros spice. If necessary, season with a little salt and pepper. Form 4 flat minced steaks from the mixture.
Heat the oil in an ovenproof pan. Fry the steaks in it for about 3 minutes on each side.
Preheat the grill of the oven. Heat butter in a pan. Brown the rest of the onion in it. Dust with flour and briefly sauté lightly. Deglaze with cream and 200 ml water, bring to the boil and simmer for 3-4 minutes while stirring.
Season to taste with ouzo, salt and pepper.
Pour gravy over the minced steaks. Grate cheese over it. Bake under the hot grill for 3-4 minutes until the cheese has melted.
Wash the chives, shake dry and cut into fine rolls. Sprinkle on the minced steaks. Goes well with flat bread or rice.
