Giant cinnamon star (with cake glaze lemon)

Ingredients

  • 250 g Sugar
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 300 g soft butter or margarine
  • 5 Eggs (size M)
  • 275 g Flour
  • 100 g crushed almonds
  • 2 TEASPOONS ground cinnamon
  • 1 package Baking Powder
  • 75 ml Milk
  • 1 package (125 g) Cake glaze "lemon"
  • 7-10 Tbsp Fat and flour

Directions

    Cream sugar, vanilla sugar and fat with the whisk of the hand mixer. Stir in the eggs one by one. Mix flour, almonds, cinnamon and baking powder and stir into the dough alternating with the milk. Pour the dough into a greased star-shaped mould (2.2 litres capacity) that has been dusted with flour. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: level 2) for 50-60 minutes (stick test). Place the cake glaze bag in hot water for approx. 10 minutes, take it out and let it cool down lukewarm.

    Remove the cake from the oven, allow to cool for 5 minutes and turn out onto a cake rack. Place the cake in a cool place for about 30 minutes. Pour the icing onto the cake using a spoon and brush and spread evenly. Chill the cake for about 10 minutes. Dust with icing sugar before serving
