Fried herrings in onion stock

Ingredients

Servings: 5
  • 4 small onions (e.g. red)
  • 1/4 l Red wine vinegar
  • 3-4 tablespoons (40 g) Sugar
  • 4 Bay leaves
  • 1 TEASPOON Mustard seeds
  • 6 ready-to-cook green herrings (à approx. 175 g)
  • 4-5 Tbsp Flour
  • 7-10 Tbsp salt, white pepper
  • 3-4 Tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 untreated lemon
  • 1/2 parsley and dill
  • 250 g Low-fat curd
  • 200 g Sour cream or sour cream

Directions

    Peel onions and cut them into rings. Simmer vinegar, 1/4 l water, onions, sugar and spices covered for about 3 minutes

    Wash herrings and pat dry. Mix flour, salt and pepper on a plate. Turn the herrings in it. Heat oil in 2 pans. Fry the herrings for 5-6 minutes on each side

    Place the fried herrings in a flat bowl and cover with the onion stock. Wash the lemon, cut into slices and add. Cover the herrings and leave to stand in a cool place for 1-2 days

    Wash herbs, chop. Mix with low-fat curd and sour cream and season to taste. Arrange everything. Served with: jacket potatoes
