French garlic chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 ready-to-cook chicken (approx. 1.2 kg)
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp white pepper
  • 1 untreated lemon
  • 2 Garlic tubers
  • 1 collar Sage
  • 7-10 Tbsp Kitchen yarn

    Wash chickens thoroughly inside and out and dab dry. Rub with salt and pepper. Tie the legs together with kitchen string. Place on the fat pan of the oven, pour on 250 millilitres of water. Roast in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for one hour. Wash the lemon and cut into pieces. Cut garlic tubers in half.

    After 30 minutes of cooking time, spread lemon and garlic around the chicken. Add another 150 millilitres of water. Wash the sage and dab dry. Sprinkle over the chicken ten minutes before the end of the cooking time. Brush the chicken with the gravy again and again during the frying process. Add the farmhouse bread, spread the baked garlic on top
