Ingredients

  • 75 g Dark chocolate
  • 5 TABLESPOONS Milk
  • 200 g Butter or margarine
  • 175 g Sugar
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 3 Eggs (size M)
  • 200 g Flour
  • 75 g Cornstarch
  • 30 g Cocoa powder
  • 1 package Baking Powder
  • 7-10 Tbsp Fat and breadcrumbs
  • 50 ml Orange liqueur
  • 200 g Dark chocolate coating
  • 60 g finished meringue shells
  • 2 TABLESPOONS crushed pistachio kernels
  • 7-10 Tbsp Cocoa

Directions

    Roughly chop the chocolate. Heat milk and melt chocolate in it. Beat fat and sugar until frothy. Season with vanillin sugar and salt. Stir in eggs one by one.

    Mix flour, cornstarch, cocoa and baking powder. Add the flour mixture first, then the dissolved chocolate to the dough. Grease a star-shaped tin (1.620 litre capacity) and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Fill in the dough and smooth it down. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ gas: level 2) for about 1 hour. Then let it cool down a little and carefully turn out of the tin. Prick the cake several times, sprinkle with liqueur, let it cool down completely. Melt the chocolate coating, cover the star with it and let it dry a little. Crumble meringue, sprinkle cake with it and let it dry completely.
