Ingredients

  • 375 g Flour
  • 125 g Cornstarch
  • 1 package Baking Powder
  • 200 g Sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp grated peel of 1 untreated orange
  • 250 g Butter or margarine
  • 4 Eggs (size M)
  • 150 ml Milk
  • 1 (100 g) Milk chocolate bar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Juice of 1 orange
  • 250 g Icing sugar
  • 4 TABLESPOONS Lemon juice
  • 25 g colourful sugar pearls
  • 7-10 Tbsp Fat and breadcrumbs

Directions

    Mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder and sugar. Add 1 pinch of salt, orange peel, soft fat, eggs and milk and mix everything with the whisk of the hand mixer. Roughly chop the chocolate and stir evenly into the dough.

    Grease a ring cake tin (2 litres capacity and 22 cm Ø) and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Pour in the dough and bake in a preheated oven (electric: 175 °C/ gas: level 2) for approx. 70 minutes.

    Cover approx. 15 minutes before the end of the baking time. Pour orange juice over the warm cake and let it cool down. Mix icing sugar and lemon juice and cover the cake with the icing. Sprinkle with sugar pearls and let the icing dry.
