Cheese rolls with ham

Ingredients

Servings: 12
  • 2 Courgettes (about 200 g each)
  • 1-2 TABLESPOONS + 1 tsp oil
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 300 g Double cream cream cheese
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 small clove of garlic
  • 7-10 Tbsp Chili Flakes
  • 4 discs Emmental cheese (approx. 30 g each)
  • 4 discs (30 g each) cooked ham
  • 12 Chive straws

Directions

    Clean, wash and dab dry the zucchini and cut them into slices of about 3 mm, except for 1/4 of the zucchini. Heat 1-2 tablespoons of oil in a pan. Fry the zucchini slices on both sides until light brown.

    Season with salt and pepper. Remove from the pan and drain on kitchen paper. Pour cream cheese into a bowl and stir until smooth with a whisk. Peel onion and garlic and dice finely.

    Cut the remaining zucchini into fine cubes. Heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a frying pan. Brown the onion, garlic and zucchini and add to the cream cheese. Season with chilli flakes, salt and pepper. Cover each slice of cheese with 1 ham and 2 zucchini slices.

    Spread the cream cheese on top and smooth it down. Roll up and cut into 3 pieces. Bring the water with 1 pinch of salt to the boil, blanch the chives briefly in it and rinse with cold water.

    Tie the cheese rolls with chives and knot them together.
