Wash the cured pork, dab dry and place on a fat pan. Pour on 1/4 litre of water and cook in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) for about 1 hour. From time to time, pour over roast stock.
In the meantime, clean and wash the turnip. Cut into slices, peel and cut into sticks. Put sugar in a pot and let it caramelize at medium heat. Deglaze with broth. Add the turnip sticks and bay leaf and stew covered for about 10 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper. Add vinegar and cook open for another 10 minutes. In the meantime, wash the thyme, dab dry and pluck. Peel and finely chop the onion. Heat the fat in a pan and fry the onion.
Add thyme. Cut the cured pork. Arrange turnips with pork on a plate and add the onion and thyme mixture. Boiled potatoes taste good with it.
