Caramelized brioche with strawberries

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 1 small organic orange
  • 2 Eggs (size M)
  • 4 TABLESPOONS Sugar
  • 150 ml Milk
  • 8 (about 2 cm thick) thick slices of brioche from the previous day
  • 50 g Butter
  • 300 g small strawberries
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Icing sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Mint

Directions

    Wash the orange, rub dry and grate half of the peel thinly. Halve the orange and squeeze 1/2 orange. Beat the eggs and 3 tbsp. sugar for 1-2 minutes. Add milk and 2 tablespoons orange juice. Cut off the rind from the brioche. Halve slices and dip into the egg milk

    Heat 40 g butter in portions in a frying pan. Fry the brioche slices for 4-5 minutes on each side over a low to medium heat until golden brown. Remove from the pan and allow to drip off a little on kitchen paper. Fry the rest of the brioche in the same way

    Wash, clean and possibly halve the strawberries. Heat 10 g butter in a pan. Sauté the strawberries for about 2 minutes. Add 2 tbsp. orange juice, 1 tbsp. sugar and vanilla sugar and simmer for about 2 minutes. Arrange brioche slices and strawberries on plates and dust with icing sugar. Decorate with mint and serve immediately
