Ingredients

Servings: 14
  • 50 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 125 g Butter or margarine
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 75 g Sugar
  • 2 Eggs (size M)
  • 150 g Flour
  • 25 g crushed almonds
  • 1/2 package Baking Powder
  • 4 TABLESPOONS Milk
  • 3 medium-sized apples (e.g. Boskop)
  • 3 Dominoes (approx. 12.5 g each)
  • 7-10 Tbsp Fat and flour
  • 7-10 Tbsp Icing sugar

Directions

  1. 1

Grate marzipan. Cream fat, vanilla sugar, marzipan, salt and sugar with the whisk of the hand mixer. Stir in the eggs one by one. Mix flour, almonds and baking powder and stir in alternately with the milk. Put the dough into a greased, flour-spreaded box form (approx. 25 cm long; approx. 1.5 litres capacity) and smooth it down

  2. 2

Wash apples and grate them dry. Cut off the stalk end of each apple horizontally as a "lid". Cut out the core of the apples, quarter the dominoes and fill the apples with them. Cover apples with "lids" and press them into the dough. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: level 2) for approx. 40 minutes, remove from oven, allow to cool in the mould for approx. 15 minutes

  3. 3

Turn the cake out of the tin and let it cool down on a cake rack for about 2 hours. Dust with icing sugar before serving. Whipped cream tastes good with it

  4. 4

waiting time approx. 2 1/4 hours
