Apple burgers with fried onion mashed potatoes

Ingredients

  • 2 discs Toast
  • 400 g mixed minced meat
  • 1 Egg
  • 7 Onions
  • 2 Apples (e.g. Elstar)
  • 1 collar Parsley
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 600 g Potatoes
  • 1 Carrot
  • 4 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 7-10 Tbsp juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/4 l Milk
  • 40 g Butter or margarine
  • 7-10 Tbsp grated nutmeg
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Flour

Directions

    Soak the toast in water, squeeze it out and put it in a bowl with the minced meat and egg. Peel 1 onion and cut into fine cubes. Wash 1 apple, quarter, core and dice. Wash parsley, dab dry and cut into strips, except for something to garnish. Add onion, apple and parsley to the minced meat, knead and season with salt and pepper. Peel, wash and chop the potatoes and carrot.

    Cook in boiling salted water for about 20 minutes. Form approx. 8 meatballs from the minced dough. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan. Fry the meatballs for about 10 minutes at medium heat, turning them over. Wash 1 apple, rub dry and cut into thin slices. Bring lemon juice and 3 tablespoons of water to the boil in a saucepan. Steam the apple slices for about 2 minutes, remove and drain. Drain the potatoes. Add milk and butter and mash finely with a potato masher. Season to taste with salt and nutmeg. Peel 6 onions, cut into fine rings and turn them in flour. Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a pan.
