Ingredients

Servings: 8
  • 75 g Walnut kernels
  • 100 g Blue cheese
  • 280 g + some flour
  • 7-10 Tbsp 2 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 TEASPOON Sugar
  • 3/4 TEASPOON Salt
  • 1 TEASPOON coarsely ground black pepper
  • 125 g cold butter (diced)
  • 200 g cold whipped cream
  • baking paper

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/circulating air: 175 °C/gas: see manufacturer). Line baking tray with baking paper. Coarsely chop the nuts. Crumble cheese. Mix 280 g flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and pepper in a large bowl.

  2. 2

Add cold butter to the flour mixture. Rub in coarse crumbs with your fingertips. Do this quickly! First briefly stir in the cream, then add the nuts. Stir only until just enough to form a dough.

  3. 3

Pour the dough onto a lightly floured work surface. The dough is a little dry, which is good. Knead it a little bit and form it quickly with your hands to a surface (about 1 cm thick). Spread cheese on top.

  4. 4

Whip the left and right third of the dough one after the other over the middle and press lightly. Now form the dough into a circle about 3 cm thick. Cut it into about 8 pieces. Place on the baking tray.

  5. 5

Bake in a hot oven for 15-18 minutes until the biscuits have slightly coloured. If necessary, cover with kitchen paper after about 10 minutes baking time (the paper is optimal for baking because it is permeable to air).

  6. 6

Take them out and let them cool for at least 10 minutes on a cake rack.
