Tuna with avocado-pineapple salsa

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 4 Tuna steaks (approx. 225 g each)
  • 4 TABLESPOONS Olive oil
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Soy sauce
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Lime juice
  • 1/2 (approx. 500 g) Pineapple
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 chili pepper
  • 1/2 Pot of coriander
  • 1 Avocado
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepperoni, roasted lime slices and coriander

Directions

    Wash the tuna and dab dry. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of lime juice, leave to stand. Meanwhile peel the pineapple and remove the stalk. Cut the flesh into small cubes.

    Peel and finely chop the onion. Carve the chilli lengthwise, remove seeds and chop finely. Chop coriander. Halve avocado, remove stone, spoon out flesh. Cut into small cubes, sprinkle with 1 tablespoon lime juice.

    Mix the salsa ingredients. Season tuna steaks with salt and pepper. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a frying pan. Fry the steaks on each side for 2-3 minutes over a high heat. Serve with the salsa.

    Serve garnished with pepperoni, fried lime slices and fresh coriander.
