Surprise egg with marzipan bunny

Ingredients

  • 250 g + 1 tablespoon icing sugar
  • 6 Eggs (size M)
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 2 packages Vanillin sugar
  • 250 ml Oil
  • 250 ml Egg liqueur
  • 250 g Flour
  • 4 Coated Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 package Pudding powder
  • 75 g Sugar
  • 500 ml Milk
  • 250 g room-warm butter
  • 150 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 7-10 Tbsp Dragee and chocolate eggs
  • 7-10 Tbsp Mini chocolate lentils
  • 7-10 Tbsp Marzipan rabbits
  • 7-10 Tbsp Fat and flour

Directions

    Grease a ring cake tin (1 litre capacity) well and dust with flour. Sift 125 g icing sugar. Whisk 3 eggs, 1 pinch of salt and 1 packet of vanilla sugar with the whisk of the hand mixer, adding icing sugar by the spoonful until the mixture is thick and foamy.

    Slowly add 125 ml oil and 125 ml egg liqueur and mix. Mix 125 g flour and 2 teaspoons baking powder, sieve over it and fold in until a smooth dough is formed. Pour the dough into the mould.

    Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: see manufacturer) for approx. 45 minutes. Let the finished cake rest in the pan for approx. 5 minutes, turn out onto a cake rack and let it cool down.

    Wash the mould, grease again and dust with flour. 2. mix the dough in the same way, bake and let it cool down.

    For the buttercream, stir the pudding powder, sugar and 100 ml milk until smooth. Bring 400 ml milk to the boil, remove from the heat. Stir in the pudding powder, bring to the boil again while stirring and simmer for about 1 minute.

    Place the pudding in a bowl, cover directly with foil and allow to cool at room temperature. Whisk butter with the whisk of the hand mixer until creamy white (approx. 15 minutes). Stir in the pudding by the spoonful.

    Knead the marzipan and 1 tablespoon icing sugar. Divide into 2 pieces and press each into a flat disc (approx. 10 cm Ø), brush lightly with water. Place the marzipan slices with the moist side on the upper opening of the cakes and press on.

    Turn over 1 cake. Fill with eggs. Spread with some buttercream and place second cake on top. Spread the remaining cream on the cake. Decorate with chocolate lentils. Chill for about 2 hours.

    Serve decorated with marzipan bunnies.
