Ingredients

Servings: 24
  • 175 g Flour
  • 1 TEASPOON ground ginger
  • 1 TEASPOON ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 TEASPOON Gingerbread spice
  • 75 g cold butter
  • 3 TABLESPOONS golden syrup
  • 50 g Icing sugar
  • 2 TEASPOONS Lemon juice
  • 7-10 Tbsp golden sugar pearls
  • 7-10 Tbsp Flour
  • 7-10 Tbsp Cling film
  • baking paper
  • 1 Disposable piping bag

Directions

    For the star biscuits, mix flour, ginger, cinnamon and gingerbread spice in a bowl. Dice butter and knead in with your fingertips until the mixture is crumbly. Add syrup and knead until a smooth dough is formed. Wrap in foil and chill for about 30 minutes

    Line baking tray with baking paper. Roll out the dough on a floured work surface to a thickness of about 3 mm. Cut out stars in different sizes with cookie cutters. Place the stars on the baking tray and bake in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: see manufacturer) for approx. 10 minutes. Let them cool down

    Mix icing sugar and lemon juice to a smooth glaze. Put it in a piping bag and cut off a small tip. Decorate the stars with the icing in strips. Place one gold bead in the middle of each star and glue it with a little bit of icing. Leave to dry
